Adoption Process
Step 1
Choosing a Maine Coon kitten from our cattery is a big responsibility that requires patience, knowledge, time, and commitment. We're here to help you find your new lifelong best friend.

Before moving forward, it's important to think about whether you're ready to add a new member to your family. Consider what type of cat would fit your lifestyle, whether it's a boy, a girl, or a retired cat.

The first step is to make sure you're prepared for the commitment of bringing a Maine Coon kitten into your family and daily life. Adding a Maine Coon is a serious decision that shouldn't be taken lightly. We strongly suggest doing some research on the breed and their specific needs before applying for a Maine Coon.
Socialization is a key aspect of owning a Maine Coon. It doesn't stop with the breeder - Maine Coons are friendly, outgoing, and social cats. They need daily attention to be happy and healthy members of your family.
You should also be ready for the financial commitment of owning a Maine Coon. You'll need to budget for high-quality food, suitable bowls and fountains, larger litter boxes, toys, and sturdy furniture that can accommodate their size. Regular veterinary care is also important for your Maine Coon's well-being.

Grooming is another important aspect to consider, especially for long-haired cats like Maine Coons. Establishing a grooming routine will make it easier for both you and your future Maine Coon.
Take the time to think about these factors before moving forward with the adoption process.
Step 2
Next, navigate to the Available Kittens page. Here, you can browse through the profiles of female and male kittens or retired cats to find one that meets your requirements and expectations.

To proceed with the adoption process, scroll to the bottom of the "Available Kittens" page. This will take you to the application form where you can provide information about yourself, your experience with cats, and your intentions as a kitten owner. You can also specify any preferences or requirements regarding the kitten's age, gender, or personality traits.

After submitting the adoption form, you will receive a confirmation message indicating that your application has been successfully submitted.
During the adoption process, we may reach out to you for additional information or clarification if needed. This screening process helps us ensure that our kittens are placed in suitable homes that can provide the necessary care and environment they need.

Once your adoption application has completed the screening process, you will be notified of your approval via email or text message. At this point, we will provide you with further instructions on the next steps and arrange for a deposit.
Step 3
We require a deposit to reserve your Maine Coon kitten. The cost to reserve a kitten is $500.00, which is non-refundable and will be deducted from the total price of the kitten.

This fee can be paid through Zelle or Venmo. Once the deposit is ready to be submitted, we will send our Honey Soul Cattery Contract for you to sign and return to us. The rest is paid in cash when picking up the kitten.

Out-of-state families will also need to inform us of their preferred pickup method, either picking up yourself or using the transportation service (Pet Nanny/Flight Nanny).
Step 4
During the waiting period, we will regularly send you videos and photos of the kittens approximately every two weeks, so you can stay updated on their growth and development.

Our kittens receive age-appropriate core vaccinations and veterinary exams while in our care. They also receive any necessary preventative treatments for intestinal parasites. This ensures that your kitten is healthy and ready to go home with you.

Your Maine Coon kitten will come home already spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. The kitten will have a wellness exam before and after the surgery.

We offer a one year health guarantee and free 30-day insurance plan with Trupanion. We are committed to providing lifetime support for you and your kitten as they grow. We will provide you with all the necessary information and support to ensure a smooth transition.

On the day your kitten comes home, it is recommended to have a clean and new carrier ready for their ride.
All Honey Soul Cattery kittens are treated as members of our family. We invest a significant amount of time socializing them and exposing them to everyday noises and experiences. This helps them adjust more easily to their new homes.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to ask.
